  • 2 cans (15 oz each) navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Cook the chopped bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, then reserve some grease in the pan.
  3. Sauté the finely chopped onion in the bacon grease until golden and fragrant (about 5 minutes).
  4. In a large bowl, combine drained navy beans, sautéed onions, bacon, brown sugar, ketchup, and mustard. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and cover with aluminum foil.
  6. Bake for about 60 minutes; remove foil for the last 10 minutes to achieve a golden top.
