Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh cod or halibut fillets
  • 1 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté onions and garlic until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  3. In a bowl, combine fish fillets and shrimp; season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together heavy cream and shredded cheese until smooth.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the seafood mixture followed by half of the creamy sauce. Repeat layers.
  6. Top with seasoned panko breadcrumbs.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown on top. Allow to rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
