Description

Pear Pie is a delightful dessert that captures the essence of home with its warm, sweet aroma and comforting flavors.


Ingredients

  • 6 medium ripe pears (Bartlett or Bosc), peeled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 pie crusts (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and lightly grease a 9-inch pie pan.
  2. In a large bowl, toss sliced pears with sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt; set aside.
  3. Roll out half of the dough into a circle and fit it into the pie pan. Pour in the pear mixture and dot with butter.
  4. Cover with the second dough circle, crimp edges to seal, and cut slits for steam.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes at 425°F (220°C), then reduce temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for another 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving warm.
