- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Prepare the brioche dough by thawing if using store-bought or making from scratch.
- In a saucepan, heat whole milk and sugar over medium until simmering. In a bowl, whisk eggs and vanilla, then slowly blend in the hot milk mixture.
- Return the mixture to the saucepan on low heat, stirring continuously until thickened (8-10 minutes). Remove from heat and cool slightly.
- Roll out the brioche dough on a floured surface and cut into 4-inch circles. Place about 2 tablespoons of custard in each circle, sprinkle with chocolate chips, and fold over to seal.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C), arrange brioches on a lined baking sheet, let rise for 30 minutes, then bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
