  • 8 oz rigatoni pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups canned tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil rigatoni in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté onions in olive oil until translucent (about 5 minutes). Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Push onions aside, add ground beef, and brown for about 8 minutes.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce and Italian seasoning; let simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Combine cooked rigatoni with the meat sauce until well coated.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C), transfer half of the mixture to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with half the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Layer remaining mixture on top and finish with remaining cheese. Bake for 25 minutes or until bubbly.
