Description

Ingredients

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, chilled
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk or cream
  • Gel food coloring (various colors)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix flour and sugar. Cut in chilled butter until crumbly.
  2. Roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thick and place it in a pie dish; trim excess edges.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla and milk, mixing until smooth. Divide into bowls for coloring.
  4. Add gel food coloring to each bowl, mixing until vibrant.
  5. Pour spoonfuls of colored filling into the crust and swirl gently with a skewer or knife.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until set in the center. Allow to cool before slicing.
