Crispy Soy Garlic Tofu is a mouthwatering plant-based dish that transforms firm tofu into golden, crunchy bites infused with savory soy sauce and aromatic garlic. Perfect for any occasion, this easy-to-make recipe will impress your guests or satisfy your cravings on a busy weeknight. Serve it over rice or toss it into salads for a delightful crunch and umami flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 oz (400g) firm tofu
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil (canola or sunflower)
  • 2 green onions, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu for 15-20 minutes using a heavy object to remove excess moisture.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into cubes and marinate in a mixture of soy sauce, garlic, and honey for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Fry the marinated tofu cubes in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Remove the tofu and keep warm. In the same pan, simmer any leftover marinade until slightly thickened.
  6. Drizzle the sauce over the crispy tofu and garnish with green onions before serving.
