- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup bell peppers (sliced, mixed colors)
- 1 medium onion (sliced)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Slice the sausage into bite-sized pieces and chop the bell peppers and onion.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage for about 5-7 minutes until crispy.
- Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Boil water in a separate pot and cook penne pasta until al dente; drain and reserve some pasta water.
- Lower the heat in the skillet, add minced garlic, cooking for about 1 minute. Gradually stir in cream while whisking continuously until slightly thickened (about 3-4 minutes).
- Toss in cooked pasta along with spices and Parmesan cheese; mix until well combined. Adjust consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.
