Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar (divided)
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the onion until translucent; add minced garlic for one minute.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef with sautéed onion and garlic. Add breadcrumbs, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, ketchup, and half of the balsamic vinegar.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  5. Drizzle remaining balsamic vinegar over the top.
  6. Bake for about 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
